Hand holding a business card with Interior Designer Stamp Wyoming and Wyoming Interior Design License logo.

Wyoming licenses four of the five design professions and interior design is the one left out. Architects and landscape architects share a board and a seal chapter, professional engineers and professional land surveyors share a board, and professional geologists have their own under Wyo. Stat. ch. 33-41. The Secretary of State’s administrative rules system carries the Board of Architects and Landscape Architects at agency 012 and the Board of Professional Geologists at agency 084 and no interior design agency, and Wyoming Statutes title 33 has no interior design chapter.

Nothing is prescribed, so the design is yours. One limit still applies, and it is about wording rather than shape. No element list governs your device, no board approves a design, and there is no diameter or legend to match. Acorn will make it to whatever you want on it: your own name, your firm name, a monogram, your logo, or a credential you actually hold such as NCIDQ.

The one thing to design away from is the state house style, which is recognizable enough to matter. A circle between one and one-half and two inches carrying a name, a number, the word Date: and a legend of the form LICENSED SOMETHING-STATE OF WYOMING is the Board of Architects and Landscape Architects format at Chapter 9 Section 2(a). Put your own name, your firm name, and any credential you actually hold, such as NCIDQ. Leave off “Licensed” and “Registered” and any state-issued title unless the state issued you one, because that is the part some states do restrict.

Is a seal required in Wyoming?

Wyoming does not license, register or certify interior designers, and no Wyoming agency issues an interior designer’s seal. The Wyoming Secretary of State’s administrative rules system lists every agency with rule-making authority, and among the design and technical professions it carries only the Board of Architects and Landscape Architects at agency 012 and the Board of Professional Geologists at agency 084; there is no interior design board. Wyoming Statutes title 33, Professions and Occupations, has a chapter 4 for architects and landscape architects, a chapter 29 for professional engineers and professional land surveyors and a chapter 41 for geologists, and no interior design chapter. There is no credential to seal with.

What must appear on the seal

  • Not applicable: Wyoming issues no interior design credential and prescribes no interior designer seal

Nothing is prescribed because nothing is regulated. An interior designer working in Wyoming may use a firm stamp or a logo device, and no Wyoming element list governs it. Avoid a die reading LICENSED INTERIOR DESIGNER-STATE OF WYOMING: that construction copies the legend format the Board of Architects and Landscape Architects prescribes in Chapter 9 Section 2(a) of its rules, and Wyoming grants no interior design license to sit behind it.

Size and shape

Not applicable. Wyoming prescribes no interior designer seal and therefore no dimension. The sources here are the Wyoming administrative rules agency list and the Wyoming Statutes title 33 chapter list.

Embosser, rubber stamp or digital

Not applicable. With no Wyoming interior design credential there is no required instrument. Where interior work forms part of a Wyoming permit submittal, the seal on it is the architect’s under Chapter 9 of the Board of Architects and Landscape Architects rules, in a rubber stamp, embosser or digital image format between one and one-half and two inches in diameter.

Signing and dating

Not applicable. No Wyoming rule prescribes a signature or date for an interior designer, because no Wyoming rule prescribes an interior designer seal.

Wyoming regulates architects, landscape architects, engineers, surveyors and geologists, and not interior designers

Wyoming licenses four of the five design professions. Architects and landscape architects share a board and a seal chapter. Professional engineers and professional land surveyors share a board with exact two-circle seal geometry. Professional geologists have their own board under Wyo. Stat. ch. 33-41 with a statutory seal legend. Interior design has no board, no statute and no seal, and the Secretary of State’s agency list carries no interior design entry.

Which documents must be sealed

No Wyoming document requires an interior designer’s seal. Interior design content reaching a permit submittal travels under an architect’s seal, and the Wyoming architect rule seals each final design and each final drawing rather than a title sheet, with the original signature across the face of each imprint and the date of signing.

Electronic and digital seals

Not applicable. No electronic seal standard exists for a profession the state does not regulate.

Renewal, lapse and retirement

Not applicable. There is no Wyoming interior design credential to renew, lapse, retire or revoke.

Firm requirements

Not applicable. Wyoming registers no interior design firms. Business entities practicing engineering or land surveying must register with that board under Wyo. Stat. § 33-29-602, and nothing analogous exists for interior design.

What to check before you order

There is nothing for a Wyoming interior designer stamp to comply with, because the state issues no interior design credential. Do not order a device in the Wyoming house format, a circle between one and one-half and two inches carrying a name, a number, the word Date: and a legend reading LICENSED INTERIOR DESIGNER-STATE OF WYOMING; that copies the Board of Architects and Landscape Architects specification for professions Wyoming does license. A firm name plate or a logo device raises none of those questions. If you hold an interior design credential from a state that does issue one, order that state’s device to its own specification and use it only there.

Frequently asked questions

Does Wyoming license interior designers?

No. The Wyoming administrative rules agency list carries no interior design board, and Wyoming Statutes title 33 has a chapter 4 for architects and landscape architects, a chapter 29 for professional engineers and professional land surveyors and a chapter 41 for geologists, and no interior design chapter.

Is an interior designer seal required in Wyoming?

No. With no Wyoming interior design credential there is no required instrument and no document that calls for one. A firm stamp or a logo device is what an interior designer here actually carries.

What can I put on a Wyoming interior designer stamp?

Your name, your firm name, a logo, contact details, or the exact name of a private certification such as the NCIDQ certificate from the Council for Interior Design Qualification. No Wyoming element list governs it, so the format is yours.

What is the Wyoming house seal format I should avoid?

A circle between one and one-half and two inches carrying a name, a number, the word Date: and a legend reading LICENSED SOMETHING-STATE OF WYOMING. That is precisely the Board of Architects and Landscape Architects specification, and there is no interior design license number to put in it.

What size should a Wyoming interior designer stamp be?

Any size, since none is prescribed for the profession. Choosing something visibly outside the one and one-half to two inch circular band the licensed professions use is worth doing on purpose.

Who seals interior drawings in a Wyoming permit set?

The architect, under Chapter 9 of the Board of Architects and Landscape Architects rules. That rule seals each final design and each final drawing rather than a title sheet, with the original signature across the face of each imprint and the date of signing, in a rubber stamp, embosser or digital image format between one and one-half and two inches in diameter.

Does Wyoming prescribe a signature or date for an interior designer?

No, because it prescribes no interior designer seal. Your signature on your own interior design documents is a business matter.

Is there an electronic sealing standard for Wyoming interior designers?

No electronic seal standard exists for a profession the state does not regulate.

What if I hold an interior design credential from another state?

Order that state’s device to its own specification and use it only there. None of them describes anything Wyoming issues.

Does a Wyoming interior design firm register?

No. Wyoming registers no interior design firms. Business entities practicing engineering or land surveying must register with that board under Wyo. Stat. § 33-29-602, and nothing analogous exists for interior design.
